Harvey
Funk Post 494 was dedicated on August 3, 1969.
It was named for a town of Caledonia Resident, who gave his life to keep his country free. Harvey was
born August 3, 1923, in the town of Caledonia. He attended New Road School, and then entered Trinity Lutheran Church School
where he graduated. Harvey entered the U.S. Army on August 23, 1944. After completing basic training, Harvey was assigned
to CO. F. 127th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division the Pacific Theater of was. On the 23rd of August 1945, while engaged
in battle on the Island of Luzon in the Northern Plilippine's, Harvey was killed in action.
Harvey Funk now rests at Caledonia Memerial Cemetery
